What thickness do you need? 4mm? 6mm? Then find out what the glazier is charging per square metre, then we can work it out for you. What are you using it for?
Hi the Winner - himself managed to break three bedroom windows trying to wake me up on Friday night when he had lost his keys and he then broke the glass in the back door (intentionally) to get in. (He didn't know he had broken the bedroom windows until Saturday morning.)
So you probably need 4mm. I don't think in this instance you need safety or toughened glass (very expensive). It won't be much for a piece that size in 4mm. However, it would still need fitting.
Hi the Winner, the stuff in the back door will need to be toughened (don't think the old stuff was) - have someone who might be able to fit it. Himself is too busy at the moment.
About a tenner at most. You will need 4mm standard glass.
ANY door glass needs to be toughened .. or laminated.
Toughened .. there is a min size usually and many places have 5-7 day turnaround (unless they have an oven) Just ask glass place for some 4mm laminated (it's just over 4mm) and use that. Meets specs.
Not much more per area than standard glass.
I am just fitting a 13-pane arched-top set to a front door right now .. and that was 4mm laminated .. £45 ready to fit to me (trade)
Thanks AlBags, have a potential bloke to fit the glass but he will have to go and get it too - not taking thing 1 and thing 2 to get glass, that would be a recipe for disaster (also dont know where the glass place is).
