noise from tree

My daughter bought a fibre optic tree. There's a slight humming sort of noise coming from it. Is this normal or is it faulty?

Does it cycle through the colours?
Some of them have a single light source and a rotating colour wheel in the base.

If it's one like that it will be the motor that you hear humming.

Thank you,rojash.Yes, it cycles through the colours.I get a bit nervous at strange noises. Wish now I'd kept the old tree !
