up date on kindle HELP from yesterday

I just thought you would like to know that it is possible to connect your kindle without wifi . I sent e mail to Amazon and this is the e mail they sent back. I hope this might be usefulfor anyone else . Thanks for help yesterday.

That's good, I wish I knew this yesterday. I bought my mum a Kinde for Christmas and it took ages for me to drum it into her head that she didn't need her computer to buy books, I was having to go through it with her, on the phone whilst I was in the bath. She got there in the end but I think I'll show her that email as I think she'll prefer to download via the computer.

It's obvious really, otherwise you would never be able to load books from a source other than Amazon.

Rojash yes it was easy to register to amazon without wifi but I could not get any further with not being tech minded. And my browser still would not let me open the link. But all ok now. I know there are excellent clever people on here and give help to us dumboes.

Would also like to add that I had some replies that said it was impossible to load it with out wifi and you wonder why people like me get confused.

You should definately check out www.gutenberg.org if you haven't already found it.

They specialise in making all sorts of books freely available in all sorts of formats including Kindle.

They have to be out of copyright of course which means 70 years after the death of the Author

but that includes
Books by Dickens, Jane Austin, Oscar Wilde
Sherlock Holmes
Jeeves and Worcester
etc.

Pretty much anything written before 1900
