Last yr my husband put more insulation in loft (up to recommended amount), this year we have noticed terrible condenstion in the bedrooms, all window (which are double glazed) are dripping everey morning, in my one sons bedroom (next to bathroom) consensation is dripping from the ceiling by the wall which has the window on it. All bedrooms have condensation dripping from the walls around the window and some of the walls have black mould on them, why has this started happening?
Assuming a connection, the water vapour must previously have been escaping through the loft. So you need to increase the ventilation to each room some other way. Leaving the small windows locked but open a crack might help. Or you can have an air brick/fan arrangement put in the walls. Often the case with double glazing, that the drafts are removed but along with their 'unofficial' ventilation function too.
as stated, you need to ventilate, especially the bathroom and if you dry clothes in the house stop. You may also need to review things like cooking veg with no lid on and so ion
We squeegee the windows each morning and leave them open for 10 minutes, that helps but yours sounds really bad, have you tried a dehumidifier? I doubt if the insulation has caused this, check your guttering is OK, any leaks from the roof, any rising damp
If the extra insulation has created the problem! remove it, better to have the problem not there, than have black mildew everywhere and loads of condensation.plus extra cost to solve it Have you saved anything on your heating costs, if you are use a de-humidifier that's another cost ??
