Yes all the time much better finish than a brush uses less paint and a fraction of the time just use a brush to do any fancy beading around panes if it is a panelled door and get the soft woolly roller sleeves for a fine finish

Used them to do kitchen cabinets you couldn't tell it was a repaint it was so smooth
I agree with Rowan. Rollers are the best way to gloss for a lovely smooth finish.

Brilliant....that is just what I wanted to read :-)
Use mini rollers with gloss many times, you can also buy large foam rollers which are great to cover large areas eg doors, wouldnt go back to using a brush as they work so much easier and you cover a large area in less time
i like paint pads for that sort of thing - you can get a really high gloss finish - rollers tend to put on too much paint when I use them.
I've found that the smoooth firm roller refills give a better finish with less spray coming off.

That's what I have Douglas. The smooth ones.
In which case if you use non drip gloss stir it a little and it will go liquid much easier to load the roller
