I will refrain from swearing, but my darling husband has just spilled a 1/2 litre of paint thinners (complete with white gloss from the paint brushes) all over my brand new kitchen worktop. I cant believe how far it went ;o( and it stinks.

We've obviously wiped up the excess liquid - should we do anything else with regard to making the worktop actually safe to prepare food on again.

Grrr, im so cross. He thinks its funny.

As long as it looks clean just wipe it down with a good multi surface cleaner, it will be fine.
It'll be fine - I'd be more worried about whether the thinners cream cracker the actual surface. What's it made of?
Cut an onion in half and put in a small bowel cut side up, this gets rid of the paint smell, works well, use it whenever painting.

oh no humbersloop - its 'only' laminate.........

onion cut and sitting on the surface now.....
it works believe me, leave it out for a couple of days and the smell will be absorbed.
A small bowel? Ewwww! ;)

I thought I might leave it next to a small intestine!
