Can anyone recommend a Home Insurance provider that you have actually claimed from?

I am going round in circles trying to find a new home insurance provider. There seem to be so many bad reviews of the companies listed on my price comparison results. Can anyone recommend a company that they have recent experience of claiming from?

We've just switched to Nationwide. We haven't claimed but my sister has....she said it was really quick.

We had a break in several years ago (more than 5) . Direct Line were our insurers then and we had no trouble at all with claiming from them.
I have nothing more recent, though.

Thanks ummmm, I have now looked at Nationwide and they seem to be well regarded, so a define possible. I seem to be having trouble listing my piano as a valuable though because it doesn't fall into one of their
'valuables categories'!

I've looked at Direct Line ladyalex, but again there seem to be very bad reviews out there. My bil laughingly suggests that the companies all pose as reviewers and *** off the competitors, but some of those stories you just couldn't make up!

Can I just say that those stars do not represent a bad word in this context - the word just means to 'bad mouth'.

We had a leak/flood that caused a lot of damage. Barclays home insurance were brilliant and sorted it all out very quickly and with no hassle to us.

NFU. Absolutely brilliant! They have real people in a local office and they pay up.
