we have just finally cut back lots of wild blackberry bushes and weeds in our garden along the edge of lawn....trouble is they are starting to grow again so quickly...what is the best way to keep them down...someone said lay loose stones from the garden centre on them but surely the weeds would grow through.....any ideas please.......thankyou

treat with a glyphosate weed killer. Be very patient about clearing the dead stuff, wait and see if it shoots again, if it does, treat again maybe a third time too. Then cover with old a carpet or thick black polythene weighed down with earth, stones, whatever you have, leave till this time next year, take off covering dig over and cultivate.

Tedious but worth it
