carpets ordered and paid.
I have ordered carpets from GG costing quite bit of money. I received a letter from a company saying they were administrators for this carpet firm. It explains said firm has been taken over and all orders from a certain date will be honoured which mine should be. It also says if you have carpets ordered and paid deposit or in full to fill in enclosed form. I phoned GG with my concern and said would like to cancel carpets as paid with credit card in full thought I could cancel my payment. I was assured by GG that my order would be alright and would be no problems with delivery of it but I could not cancel. They also said to ignore the letter that I do not need to fill in this form.I have since been told firm taken over is also iffy anyone else had this letter today and what are your views on this matter? Do I wait and see what happens or fill in this form?

The best thing is to go for delivery - and it is in their interest too so as to be able to get the margins from your transaction onto their books. Stick in there
yes includes fitting them aswell. Just wondered why this solicitors have sent me a claim form to fill in. Carpet company say do not fill it in no need carpets will be delivered and laid oh well fingers crossed. If company that has taken over are honouring all orders why the need for these letters to be sent out to worry people about it.
The form was probably human error, they usually go out when Co. has gone into liquidation. As someone has taken them over sit tight and wait for delivery and fitting. At the end of the day if it goes belly up you will be able to claim from credit card under section 75 of Consumer Credit Act. You would not be able to cancel payment with card as it will already have gone out and they undoubtedly will not be able to get it back, and as they acted in accordance with your instructions they will not refund apart from in above circumstances.
Good luck and try not to worry to much in the interim
