Sofa cushions all sagging and need replacing. Went to foam company in Gloucester. Looked at loads of foams. OH kept saying not firm enough. Finally decided on their firmest. Got them home today, Boy!!! are they firm. I feel that I am towering over coffee table. Struggle to reach my glass and my backside hurts. Really struggling but at £80 a cushion can't get rid. What do you reckon if I get the grandchildren round to use them as a trampoline to soften them up?
Ah, wires crossed perhaps. I took it you meant scatter cushions.
Still, that's a serious outlay for replacemtns, especially when there's a 365 days a year sale on at DFS!
I bought upholsterers foam off ebay recently for a ridiculously low price. I won't make you cry by telling you how much, but for 80 quid i could have stuffed all my neighbours cushions too...
We have had the suite 6/7 years. Its only the last year we have felt it has sunk beyond what we want. Took ages to decide what to do and how to do it, as you have to take the original cushions with you and leave them there for 2 days, so the main sofa was cushionless. The smaller sofa doesn't get the amount of use so cushions are ok. Still tempted to get grandkids round.
I have the opposite problem Caran, the stuffing in our cushions is rubbish! (yes, from DFS). You have to plump them up every time you sit on them. Perhaps if I give you half of mine and you give me half of yours we'll have the perfect mix.
See if they will reduce the depth a little for you so you can at least get your legs comfy... If the foam is that firm it will hold its shape ok It will give a bit with use but not a lot... you may have to bite the bullet and get something different. If you do get the firm foams covered in a fabric that tones with your room and use it for your grand kids to sit on when they come round
