I have cut the antenna wire whilst gardening. What do I do? No signal!

Does anyone have any suggestions? the wire is not cutall the way through but does not look healthy.

Get two fittings male/female type then cut the part damaged wire in to two and connect the two fittings to each wire end then plug them together, now get some duck tape or electrical tape and wrap it around the joining fittings to protect it from weather. simple task rely. a local electrical shop or D.I.Y. shop should have two antenna wire fittings or maybe two the same and an adapter one that fits in between to link them.

You just need to make sure that there is no break in the wires and that there is no short between the outer screen/braid wiring and the solid inner conductor(s). The wires can be twisted together to make a connection and insulation tape wrapped around to keep moisture/crud out. But if wires are twisted to make a connection, in time oxidation will result in a poor connection – meaning that the join will need re-fixing to ensure an adequate signal from the antenna.
