caring for yukka plants

how often should I water and feed a yukka plant and what sort of lighting should it be in?

Although no expert, my Yukka plant -called Yoda- is standing in a french window facing east (i.e. morning sun, but not the later scorching rays) and I give him a pint of water (poured onto his leaves, rather than straight in the pot) once a week, roughly. He is very healthy and grows at an astonishing inch per week, so I must be doing something right! -Good Luck!!
