If I was honest I'd say someone's been playing with photoshop.
Blossom to me looks like prunus of one sort or another. I'll bet the colours have been mucked about with in the computer because blue flowers possibly, blue buddy bits - no.
Question Author
I did think that too prudie but the photo was posted by the editor of a well respected floristry magazine. There's about 20 comments on the photo but no one has asked what it is, I might have to be the div that does. I hope it is real, it's beautiful.
Question Author
Have been googling blossoms shoota but can't find any blue ones.
I was thinking it might be possible to selectively breed a blue blossom but not blue foliage from which it springs, but I agree - I don't think one exists.
I agree with Prudie on this one...I've been growing for years and never seen blue stamen before. Pollen is the colour it is for one purpose, to attract the pollinators...no way is blue going to do that
Agreed it's the blue buds that make it particularly unreal. Don't forget florists do all sorts of things with flowers - dye them put glitter on etc. It's not meant to be dishonest.
Question Author
Right then, I'm going over to FB to be the div that asks the question.
Let us kn ow what answer you are given please.....
Question Author
Asked the question but did notice that it wasn't the editor that posted it, she was just tagged in the photo so may not have even seen it.
from a photgraphers point of view, its been photoshopped. the back dround is in blue tonnes as well some one has been playing with hues and saturation. Also i think its a cherry blossom originally
Question Author
Bless you sir, how did you do that? A bit gutted it's not real.
Don't be gutted rocky. If stamen were blue the plant population would die out
colour popping hues and saturation filters, there are loads of tricks in a photographers arsenal these days.
Question Author
It looks so pweeety though!
Looks like cherry blossom but someone has been playing with the colours. The blue bud bits give it away, very pretty though.
rockyracoon - open your link. Then right click on the image and left click on Copy Imagine Location. Open Google and then click on Images. Click on the camera within the white box and then Paste.
