yesterday went to Becontree underground station, booking office full of 15 to 18yr olds all "glammed up" skimpy outfits and all in brand new posh patterned wellie boots - got off the train at Upminster [ bit more upmarket] and there were more even more glam/fake tan and tiny denim shorts etc -girls that is- in even more posh wellies and all obviously bought for some event and it couldnt have been an overnight-fest as they only had handbags with them. Didnt like to ask, where were they all heading ?
the second crowd of girls were outside Upminster station and more girls were joining as I waited for a bus to Lakesdide. Certainly not one "butchy" one among them ! It was the new very trendy wellies that got my attention they looked so out of place with the rest of their outfits !
I was hacking my way through Soho last night; it was heaving. But apart from some men in feather boas, I wouldn't have identified any of them as gay; they're not all limp wrists and butch haircuts. (As jackthehat may confirm.) I suspect many were just there for a party in the streets, whatever their orientation. And the wellies were because it's been raining.
But it may just have been a shopping trip to Lakeside or Bluewater, who knows.
thank u erin x ---Hyde Park would definately suit this crowd [s] they were all dressed up to the nines [ or zee dinner of ze dog] and Upminster is in Essex [ shut uuuuuup] at the very end of the district line on the underground and easily accessible for Hyde Park.
Thats funny, Dee - last Sunday we came through Dagenham and passed Becontree Station, got caught at the traffic lights and, again, loads of teenagers crossed in front of us, not all glammed up though, but did have racksacks on their backs - looked like some type of field trip....
