Removing old paint

Please could I ask what the best way is to remove old paint (white gloss) from my spindles on the stairs?
Would it be chemical paint stripper or hot air gun?

depends how intricate they are. Are they wooden? I would try the heat gun first.

If you try the Heat Gun watch your Carpet,I didn't and ended up having to buy new.!!

I think I will try the heat gun - carpet is not important as I hope to replace that at some stage in the not too distant future
