Can anyone tell me how much it might cost per hour to run a fan on either 1,2 or 3 speed? I've just got one but am worried about how much it will be and if I should maybe ration myself?

As Hymie and I agree, the cost of running your fan (even at full speed) is unlikely to much more than 20p per DAY (if running it CONTINUOUSLY for 24 hours). It might well be rather less than that).

40W (as suggested by me) is the same power as a tungsten bulb in a bedside lamp uses. 100W (as suggested by Hymie) is the same power as a normal tungsten room bulb uses...

Hey! I've just marked my first "Best Answer" and your IT Buenchico!!! Thanks!
Dare I suggest that the time to have considered this was BEFORE buying said fan?
invisiblelady. Just a thought if you are bothered about extra costs because of the warm weather put 20p in a jar every day you are running the fan & you will not get an unexpected bill.

W Ron.
Buy a couple of hamsters, tie their wheel to the fan - Hey Presto free cooling :))

gingejbee.....I really have been TOO hot. I just couldn't bear it any more. I'm going to make savings elsewhere (like food!) It will be worth it!
Excellent idea whiskeryron. I WILL do that!
Boxtops...if only......
my mistake entirely i thought the tower fan the lady was enquiring about was a fan HEATER
Surely, the cost of using your TV and PC far outweighs the running cost of a fan, so don`t be so mean.
