I'm thinking of trying copper tape, any advice/tips before I purchase, does it work?

I've found it to be very effective for keeping them out of my half barrels full of Hostas, the ony problem I get is when they climb in from near by plants. I use two bands, one at the top one at the bottom, as far as I know there is no need to keep it clean as it works just as well when it has gone green.

I am not sure myself, we have loads of snails and slugs here and at one time I used the beer method...it worked most of the time (at least they died in adrunken stupor lol). The copper tape seems expensive to me when I looked at it and you'd have to have a lot if you wanted to use it on lots of pots imo.
we sell this in the garden centre where i work as its eco friendly and not poisonous. http:// www.ama zon.co. ...ranu les/dp/ B0031RG 7OC
or if you want pellets these are very good and they are the ones i use.

if you have a large area on your garden these are cheap and you get a big bag and they are eco friendly.

The RHS website appears to endorse the use of copper tape:
