I have an old purse in a soft leather, it is a pale pink colour and needs a good scrub, but I know from past experience that if I scrub it with a soft sponge and fairy liquid or something similar, the colour can come out and leave a darker mark of whatever is the base colour underneath. Is there something gentle I can wash the leather with or how would you clean it? Thanks all.

I got some leather wipes (a bit like baby wipes) in Asda to wipe our suite. That sort of thing might do the job.
Saddle soap
I was going to suggest baby wipes too.

Danny would saddle soap (and water) rub the colour off the leather? I've got some leather wipes somewhere, I'll let you know if it works ...
You can buy glove shampoo for leather gloves.
