Hi ABers out there. I wonder if anyone knows how I can get all the black mould that's covering the white grouting inbetween the tiles in our bathroom. Really and truly, I suppose that the tiles should be completely taken off and re-grouted, but that's rather too drastic for us. Would prefer a quick fix - if there is one. Hope you can can help, please.

Many thanks, Chox.

Try HG Bathroom Mould spray.

It's pretty vicious stuff, so use a face mask and open the window. If the mould is really bad you might have to do a second application.

I used it in the shower cubical and it really made a massive difference.
you need the kind of thick bleach that is designed for putting in loos, a throwaway paintbrush (or more than one, the bleach eats the bristles) old clothes and disposable rubber gloves, eye protection (old sunglasses will do). Ventilate the room well. paint the bleach on over the black stuff, leave for 24 hours, rinse off well with plain water. This always works for me but do be careful, the bleach is vicious. Dont get it on the chromework, especially if you have fancy brass or gold plated stuff.
I use thick bleach too with a half inch paintbrush. I use it as soon as the black stuff starts to reappear and it works in minutes. I then use the hand shower to rinse it off the walls.
I tried the bleach method and it just didn't shift the really stubborn mould.

The spray is the only thing I've found that works for me. (No, I'm not on commission...)
This is brilliant stuff - Dettol Mould & Mildew Trigger Spray , just spray on and leave for a while then rinse off
I endorse ladybird49

Dettol Mould and Mildew remover. It is fantastic. Spray on any black mould, leave it for about 20 mins and rinse off. Fabulous, worth every penny.
I second the HG bathroom spray that 2sp suggested. You can get it from Lakeland http://www.lakeland.c...0284/HG-Mould-Remover
99p shop sell Astonish Mould & Mildew Remover - 750ml
A powerful mould & mildew remover, killing unsightly spores & preventing re-growth - Works within 2 minutes

I find all their product are excellent.
I agree with sometimesit = Astonish can be found in £1 stores most times.
Done my grouting a treat.
Thanks sometimesit , il try that one , its a lot cheaper than the dettol one
I use grot buster (Not grout) and I put it on cotton wool balls or strips of cotton wool and leave it on the grout for a couple of hours and then take off cotton wool and rinse with the shower - works every time
That's the one bushbaby - but I got it cheaper on Amazon.

Aw, many thanks folks. Don't fancy going down the neat bleach route, but will give one of those sprays a go. Thanks so much, I will try to remember to keep you posted. The tips are much appreciated.

Best wishes, CHox.
most of the mould ands mildew removers are bleach based and the same precautions apply, especially eye protection if you are spraying.
