Gas Fire Problem.

I hope this is an appropriate section to post this problem.
It is the case that a neighbour of mine has a 3-4yr old gas fire.(Valor Dream 9 ) which has been serviced annually but has now developed an unidentifiable fault.....It is lit and after as little as half an hour it will suddenly go out and in a short time can be re-ignited; only to go out again.
The elderly lady concerned has contacted the manufactures who advised her to engage a local firm who are its agents in the area. However after three visits by the manufacturers representative and new parts supposedly fitted, the problem remains.
Accordingly, I am enquiring if any ABer has had a similar experience and, if the fault were resolved, what caused the initial problem.

No problems with the gas stove or central heating boiler. The 'repairers' are deemed to be Corgi registered (or Gas Safe as it is now known) and there is not any smell of leaking gas. Consequently, as I do Not have any experience of using gas appliances, the whole issue is a complete mystery to me; especially as the supposed experts haven't really got anywhere to identifying the problem. However they have been recalled to have another go at putting matters right.
I'll let you know in due course what next happens; which it is hoped will be this side of Christmas.

Just thought that folks might appreciate an up-date on this matter.
Gas Chaps came as arranged on December 19th and informed my neighbour that they had fitted a new 'central part' (whatever that means.!!) Fire appeared to work satisfactorily one days and then it was back to square one.
The 'experts' visited again on Monday of this week, accompanied by their Boss, and it was identified that the Pilot Flame had a small obstruction which has now been cleared. Consequently the fire now appears to be working efficiently, but it remains to be seen for how long this position remains.
Even if matters have now been put right, I am awaiting to hear the amount of the bill that the dear lady gets for all the visits which have been made and has, presumably, involved a number of unidentified parts having been fitted. It is my opinion that the total cost should be on the basis of a single visit and attention having been given to just one faulty part.
