Slippery Drive Solution Please
22 Answers
The drive to my garage slopes up quite steeply so, when it's icy I can't get my car out even when the road is fine. It's also slippery when it's wet. The drive is concrete.
Is there anything I can put on the drive that will prevent me looking like Bambi when I'm walking on it and perhaps give the car some grip?
I've looked at Protecta-Kote but know nothing about it.

It's north facing....never gets any sun which is what adds to the slipperiness all year and I'd like a permanent solution if there is one.

If there is a thick covering of ice I'm unsure anything you coat the ground with will help since the ice will simply cover over it. For slight wet you would need a rough surface to grip on and hopefuily drain the damp preventing the surface geting smooth. Maybe a rough concrete skim of some sort, or one with rough stones in it.
How about a hand rail down the side, as an aid to walking ? As for the car, I assume it can cope with wet, the rest is down to putting something under the wheels so they grip. Old blanket maybe.
