Afternoon all,

Did you know that if you click a link with the scroll-wheel it will open in a tab/browser window?

On another thread we started discussing little productivity shortcuts and tips (derailing the thread a littl) - so I thought we could all share our favourites here.

Mine is:

In Windows 7/8 you can press WindowsKey + AnyNumber to open a new session of a program pinned to that slot in the taskbar.

Equally, by pressing WindowsKey + Alt + AnyNumber you'll see the right-click list for that pinned item - this usual includes recently opened docs, visited sites and other tasks you can kick-off from the pinned item.

Good for it you hate your touchpad!

So, what's your favourite little trick you think everyone should know?

If you have more than one gmail account it is a pain swapping between them - forever logging in/out/in/out ... I need to use one for work, one for home and also have various 'throwaways' from time to time.

So have two (or more) different browsers running (take your pick from firefox, opera, chrome, IE, whatever) and log each browser into a different gmail account ... works very nicely for me.
Shift/Ctrl/del keys together to clear cache & history; coz your site has java overload.

am out of jelly tots, can I be growd up
Clicking a link with my scroll wheel just refreshes the page.

Sunny Dave, I have my gmail account collect all email from other GMail accounts and blueyonder addresses. I can send emails from different accounts through my main GMail account, too. Very useful when I am using my smartphone.

Hi hc4361.....Very interesting. I have four Browsers (Safari; IE; Google Chrome; and my default, Firefox ) However, in my case, clicking the Scroll wheel only works with Firefox.

My mouse is one of those multi button, multi click types and I have set up the different features for my own convenience. It works the same in all browsers. :)

My best tip is in respect of the google search box. It is a great, quick calculator for basic sums eg type 6*3 in the search box, click 'enter' and the answer appears straight away.
If you use the google search bar it is well worth learning the basic search commands.

If you'd like to search a single site for your search term (in google) you can just put

For example:
