Anyone who has a Zanussi might be able to advise. A neighbour has one and unlike my Indesit it has a FLAT BACK whereas my Indesit has like 'coils ' sticking out of the back about 2" which are presumably the for the refrigerant? Why is this and is it better (it certainly fits flat to wall) so where is the refrigerant on the Zanussi.
Also my Indesit is quite noisy and 3 call outs later engineer says nothing wrong with it.
The neighbour's Zanussi is very quiet, but costs about £100 more than mine.
Can anyone help and comment. I am thinking of dumping mine (only 2 years old) and trying a Zanussi. The finish certainly looks better to me; a non-technical senior cittizen!
My daughter had a similar problem with noise. A friend knows an engineer who told her to defrost it, let it sit for 2 days and then switch on again. Sure enough it's now quiet and working ok. Worth a try.
I am the moggie99 - will be looking for one too when I get around to kitchen - you know the noise puts your head away. I could actually hear mine buzzing even in bed in the silence of the night - I once broke 3 egg cups at it to shut it up.
My last one was a frost free Hotpoint and all the workings were at the bottom of it and not at the back like most have. That one was fairly quiet but have just bought a Indesit frost free and the workings are at the back on this one and like yours is very noisy. Some times it sounds like someone using a drill next door but when I go into the kitchen I find out it is the fridge making the noise.
