Charity That Collects Textiles?

Is there a charity that will come and collect textiles.
I'm clearing out someone's house and there are a lot of blankets, sheets, clothes etc.
Too much to put in the car and take to a charity shop - and some of them are not in good condition.
Not sure if this is the right section for this query, so apologies if wrong.

Ring round your local animal shelters, they are always looking for old blankets.

Pop along to your local amenity site, there is a Salvation Army skip for just such items at the one I go to.

Salvation Army left 'fill a bag' that they will collect.

we have a textile bin at our local council refuse/recycling centre. The RSPCA will welcome any blankets. Also we have a local firm who advertises for them. I think they sell them on to factories as cleaning cloths (or used to) We used to bag up loads left from jumble sales etc
. Perhaps enquire about any of these at your local town hall

Where abouts are you - the Hospice I work for will go and collect large amounts of stuff like house clearance. I'm in the Lincoln/Sleaford area.

Sleaford too far away - I live in SW Scotland!
Far too much stuff for me to load into car and take to recycling/charity shops/whatever.
I'm talking skip full (or 2). Nothing been thrown away for 60 years she's been living in the house.

It may be that a lot of the things are collectable/vintage and might fetch quite a bit of money, particularly any ornaments - would it be possible to have an auctioneer come and look over the things - they would then fetch anything which would be worth putting into an auction. That's what happened when an aunt of mine died and even some cracked items fetched good prices.

Homeless shelters will take all-blankets and sheets to give away or furnish shelter bedrooms...clothes so rough sleepers can change into clean.

Look in your local paper for house clearance ads. We had someone (from one of the well known charities) come and empty a house for us.

Most of the big charity chains have collection services now. Find the one closest to you and get them to collect it. If it is not worth them selling they will sell it directly to the rag man.
