The reuslts for Key Stage II. What does the letters refer to? I have been told that a 4c is higher than a 4a

The levels are nationally recognised, but the 'sub-levels', where each level is split into three equal bands, are used by schools to show progress more clearly (it could take 1 to 2 years to move from a level 3 to a level 4).  The 'usual' order is a 4c is lowest, then 4b, then 4a, at least in my experience.  However, different schools use different systems so it might be worth double checking.
