Sorry about the dramatic title, but I need some help, badly.

My son has managed to sit on a black grape, on a light brown leather sofa, and although it's now dried, there is a massive black/purple stain on the seat!! :-((((

How on earth do I get rid of it, without causing any further staining?

Also good for dry cleaning suede....brush in and out....mix a thickish paste for leather...

Put some pledge or olive oil on a soft cloth and rub it in the faded spot. This would restore the faded spot to shining again. I have done this before.

Really? It's light though, almost like the leather has lifted.

Hang on. I'll take a picture of it, that may help.

Darling, this worked for me on leather, and wooden tables with water marks.
Because the acid content of grape has lifted colour....have you any leather nourishing cream ? The sort you buy for cleaning...or saddle soap...it may help to lift what colour remains..
Question Author
Worst thing is, I've just realised my home contents insurance covers my sofas for spills and stains!!

fluffs sake.
Question Author
No leather cream and definitely no saddle soap.
If my phone would stop pissing about I could post a pic, and then you can see what I mean. It's weird. The leather has gone really pale, but it's also dotty??

There you go. You can still see the grape stain in the middle, but it's much, much lighter than what it was before I 'cleaned' it.
I only used blimmin water.

From where do you buy or get "blimmin water"?
Question Author
Hardy ha :)

It's a special kind of water, fluoride free, that strips the leather off sofas!
:) x
Can't you just claim on insurance then ?
Perhaps rubbing some Brown boot polish into the stain might restore the colour.
So grapes, blackberries - what else has everyone accidentally sat on?
Question Author
I've phoned Tesco (who my insurance is with) and they've said they'll pass my details onto a local upholstery cleaning company who they use. He asked me if I thought the stain would come out, so I just said yes. Didn't mention the fact I've removed the bloody leather! :-/

shoe polish cream, to match the suite?
Question Author
That may work Tony, though I think I'd best leave it now and see what the cleaning company do.
Would they be able to put the colour back, though? Like with a polish or dye or something?

I have to go now, dinner to make.

Thanks again for all your help. I really am fed up fed up now....
Question Author
I'm such a div. I was reading that and saying to myself "match the suit? Match the suit? What suit?"...

I'm sure that the upholstery cleaners will know how to restore the colour MadMen, have faith.
