my 16 month old granddaughter stayed overnight and she's been playing happily for the last 3 hours with the peg basket, 3 empty buiscuit tins, a set of small round drinks coasters, a stack of 6 A4 document boxes and 6 small cushions. Her parents spend a fortune on toys. lol
Dot, it is always the case.
Last time I had to mind a small child (under 2) I had all kinds of things out and ready to entertain him.
He sat quite happily on my kitchen floor with saucepans and a wooden spoon, pretending to play the drums
I have alot of patience but I'm not carzy! She uses the buscuit tins as drums already , she has quite good rhythm and manages to make enough noise without the use of a wooden spoon! lol
I was only thinking about a similar thing this morning funnily enough. The last time my grandchildren visited before they went to Australia they spent much of the time kneeling by the mini pond and fishing dead leaves out of it with long twigs they'd found lying around. Little ones can always find something to amuse themselves...not so funny when it's your make up bag.
