Im on my feet for 9 hours a day being a gardener. I need something a lot more comfortable than the standard issue steel toe cap boots we get. The boss has agreed to fund it as im type 2 diabetic and have problems with my feet.

I was looking at maybe a trainer or ankle length boot...nothing too rugged as i wear shorts all summer.

Any suggestions ? i had a brief look at Dr martens stuff but open to offers.

Cheers

I would have thought Doc Martins would be boiling in the warmer months - that's if we actually get any!

How about a walking trainer? Nice and sturdy and supportive.
Not worn anything like this, but these have a 5* rating, and wouldn't break the bank (There are quite a lot to go through on Amazon, if these aren't to your taste - just search "Safety Trainers")

do you need to have steel toe caps?
Do you have standard feet or is part of the discomfort due to you needing a wide fitting?
http://www.hottershoes.com/ is one of many firms specialising in comfortable shoes but they aren't cheap so I'd check first with your boss if you decide to buy from them.
Fluffs, get me some of those. I'm your friend, and is on my feet a lot too. x
If you are employed your employer is responsible for your PSE ....
(personal safety equipment).
The equipment is allowable against tax so why not get some decent ones.
Wearing these is like wearing slippers, not cheap though ... http://rossiboots.co.uk/product.asp?fldProductID=2

Wow...thanks for the replies.

My feet are standard but size 11 !!!! They would also have to be black, brown or a dark colour as i work for a local authority. Do like the Dunlop walking boots.
