what amazes me is those who went to comfort the poor man, whilst the men were standing with knives in their hands, what i also want to know is why did it take the police 20 minutes to get on the scene, as that was quoted on the news.

To comfort the guy with their phones out recording it? Heart warming isn't it? In America, or just about any other country in the world they would have been tackled to the ground. 20 minutes for the police to respond. 20 minutes and people were stood around watching.

Would you have rugby tackled them, or expected your nearest and dearest to do so?

there were two women who seemed to be trying to comfort him, likely he was already dead.

I don't think we have any reason to condemn the witnesses and passers-by. One person died. No-one else did. It may be that the action taken by bystanders helped to avoid any more deaths. I don't think anyone could have saved the poor victim.

No, I wouldn't have done but I also would not have stood around watching. There were women there with buggies. I do think the woman from the VT was astonishingly brave, considering she thought she was dealing with a road traffic accident but I have seen plenty of footage of people with guns and knives being apprehended. I just think we're a bit too reasonable. Does it really make you feel safe?

there were making no attempts to hurt anyone else, or escape, in fact they were just standing around talking - so why would anyone have risked being hacked to death to tackle them to the ground?
for what purpose?
because they would have undoubtedly attacked back if they had been tackled.

if you wouldn't do it yourself, you cannot condemn others for not doing it either.
