I had to pull the side flaps down and turn the bread to toast the other side. All guesswork and far harder than toasting bread with a toasting fork in front of the fire or using the grill.
Mrs Z just bought a new iron. It's a Bosch, so should be good but the water reservoir emptys too damn fast, the spray button doesn't spray so much as doing an imitation of a water cannon and the thing is the size of a small family car so rubbish for ironing anything with any detail, like a pocket on a shirt. Grrrr.
I'll try that Sher, I had thought of doing that but never actually did it but I used to use one of those old toasters with really thick bread and loved it. Apologies hc4361
Buying a chip fryer as it means having to peel potatoes rather than being able to chuck a bag of chips in the oven. I hate peeling potatoes, I have an irrational phobia of potato eyes!
