New Kitchen

Now maybe near Aug/Oct will think I have enough money to NOT GET A FULLY FITTED kitchen but you know replace cupboard doors. new sink and taps new doors - new counter tops - I am happy with the quotation but since my fridge/freezer, dish washer and washing machine are all working - it feels a bloody shame replacing them when they are doing ok - however, feel new appliances need to go with the new look. what do you think. thanks.

I don't imagine they wear out faster than the carcasses. The worktops may have taken a bit of wear over the years though. I think it is just one of those fashion/bored with it unnecessary expenses. But if it is what you want, then go for it. As for appliances, my view is replace when they go wrong not on whim, unless you are wealthy and into conspicuous consumption.

thanks all for your replies - it is just the appliances are old too- but since I am thinking of doing white gloss doors - would like the appliances ie fridge/freezer and dishwasher silver - the way kitchen has been built the door covers the washing machine loosely but if anything was to happen to the w machine - would have to break down a little of the cover of gloss door which I wouldn't want to happen. OG I love everything to match.
I had my kitchen refitted recently and was dithering about replacing my two year old dishwasher so that I could get an integrated one, as I was concerned that the cream gloss units and the white dishwasher would jar. I finally decided that I was too mean to lash the cash unnecessarily and barely notice the difference.
If you already have white goods and are planning on white gloss units I'd leave be and replace when the time comes. I know you want silver but in the meantime white goods and white gloss will not look out of place.
