Asbestos Roof Repair
5 Answers
Good afternoon all, nice to feel the sun !
I have a shed with an asbestos roof which is now leaking. I thing the moss has eaten holes in it.
I am wondering what is the most effective means of repair. I don't want to replace it. Would flash band stick?
Any suggestions welcome. Thank you

If it will take a scrape to clean it (not advisable because of risk from asbestos fibres) the answer is yet. Fibreglass matting and resin would be better. However, replacement with profiled metal sheets might be best. Others would recommend a bitumen impregnated fibre board. Depends on the degree of exposure!
No expert but when my garage developed a hole and rotted the beam I just got a builder in to strip and remove the lot and replace it with something less hazardous. Not that they were keen to remove it initially, but I insisted that was vital as otherwise it still left me with an issue. I note you do not wish to replace, your choice, but that would be my preference. Removes the issue completely.
