property websites like rightmove charge more to give your property prominent listing - is it worth paying that extra fee, does it improve your chances of selling?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Everyone I know who uses Rightmove, and I know a good few, input their search area, how many beds, price etc and a list of properties meeting those options, in price order, will come up. So if your property meets the criteria then it will appear in this list. I don't see any advantage in paying any more money. Is your agent asking you to pay more for a prominent position?

Whem I am looking for properties on Rightmove, I generally know the area I'm looking at and will check out all the properties in that area that I can afford. I don't care whether they are a 'premium listing' or not. For that reason, I can't see how it can improve your chance of selling and I would regard it as a waste of money.
