Where Do I Stand Now?
12 Answers
i have purchased a dressing table and 2 bedside tables from m and s online. they arrived last week and the dressing table was slightly knocked so while the delivery man was there, we both spoke to customer services on the phone. i got a 70 pound discount and the woman said the matter was closed once i had accepted it. Now, the more i look at the furniture, the more i just dont like the colour, i wanted cream but it does look like a slight off white to me. If you were to ask someone what they thought, they would say white. I am now wondering if i can return the items particularly as the dressing table matter was said to be closed. Is there a 7 day cooling off period no matter what?

This is because you have not had a chance to inspect the goods before ordering. Unfortunately by accepting the discount you could be said to have inspected the goods (you did to to notice the damage) and accepted them.
No harm in trying under the DSR if you are still in time. You may have to pay return delivery costs if M&S agree to take the goods back

It isnt that one, as now in sale, think it has gone now. When you look at pic you have put link for ie. same range, inderneath it states ivory. In the product detail which i cannot have read, being satisfied with the description ivory, it states soft white as you say. Ivory to me is cream, not soft white. It arrived last Thursday. Do you think i can send it back along with 2 bedside cabinets?
Just to let you know that i called M n S this morning. They didn't see my complaint as much of a problem. They first of all said they would pass it on to someone who would assess it re the colour etc. After having checked my rights, when I mentioned if there had to be anything in writing from me as there was a 7 day cooling off period due to an online purchase, she thought not but went off to check. She came back and straight away said that she could arrange for my furniture to be collected and had seen that I had already had a problem with it initially but she didn't dwell on this. So I am feeling very relieved and very lucky. Thanks for all your help
