Perfect Average Temp For House

Now I am only asking for your opinions, I am aware that there is not a 'perfect' room temperature. But going into Autumn/Winter the heating will kick in soonish.

What temp do you have your thermostat set at?

21.5 centrally but I've got TRV's on all the rads so the bedrooms are set cooler

I've not got central heating so I've not got a thermostat. However I've always set classroom and office thermostats at around 19 to 20C as a comfortable working temperature, with 21C being the maximum temperature I'd want in a domestic situation. (Anything above that is oppressive and a vast waste of money on heating).

I have no idea, but would suspect it is around 75°. Warmer in winter for comfort, cooler in summer for the same reason.

right now t's at 12 so it doesn't switch on, but I start at 16 and work my way up.

21 degrees unless we are in bed or out at which point it will be turned to 18. All thermostatic valves are set to produce these temperatures throughout the house with all internal doors continually open. In the summer the solar panels default to space heating after taking the hot water tank to 90 degrees - then the radiators come on and on serial sunny days temperatures rise relentlessly. We start opening windows and doors once the house goes past 25 degrees or so. The only temperatures we find oppressive are those below 20 degrees and we won't accept them during waking hours indoors - outdoors we put on the necessary clothing. I accept that this is not the UK norm where heating is very low on the priority list.

Depends -during the day when moving around -18C, evening when sitting 21C.....but bedrooms are a lot cooler...hate warm bedrooms!

20 C is plenty warm enough. If you're still cold, put on another layer of clothing.

Am resisting putting heating on tonight, have an extra cardigan on but if it continues to get colder heating will go on soon.But at least it didn't go on in August like it did last year.

I have an electronic thermostat that can be set for different temperatures through the day/night. It is currently set at 17 degrees for night and 20 for the day. I vary it for the seasons and wished it had this setting too !

I never have the heating on overnight. Have got some small oil filled rads to take the cill of the bedrooms if needed.

We moved in January, everything was said to be High-spec, don't think the thermostat was set above 17° for the rest of the cold-spell, so it seems to work ok.
