Wood Treatment For Raised Beds

I've just got a load of new scaffold boards to make some raised beds. I don't know if it's been treated or not but I would like to paint it with something anyway. What can I use that will not leech out anything into the soil and potentially harm my veg. I normally use creosote type stuff but I know that'll be no good for this project.

Yes, scaffold boards are well treated, Ratts. They spend their lives in the rain.

Fence paint from Cuprinol or Ronseal....... water-based.
Or, Wickes sell one........

Cheers Builder, I'm not a huge fan of those types of paint as some of them don't seem to last very long but I'll bear them in mind.

If you want something longer lasting, this is a bit over the top for scaffold boards.....................

One of the best. Not to be used in Aquatic environments, but OK for plants once it's fully dried.
