Lone mum with 2 toddlers has abandoned my rental maisonette owing 2months rent & She ignores phone contact. She did ask for TAgreement to pass to council.

If the council has housed her would they tell me & pay back rent?

why would the council re-house someone who already has accoodation? they would need her to prove she was going to lose her home or needed rehousing because of overcrowding etc.

Think you'll have to put it down to experience.....make sure you are paid housing benefit directly in future !

Phoned DSS they confirm she teceived rent but wont confirm she is re-housed. They confirmed I could enter premises due to rent shortfall. And DSS want me on their llord roll as they have tenants who would match my rent.……catch 22 ;(

the 'DSS' are not into finding tenants or housing people, that's the local housing association, is it the housing benefits office you have contacted? They will no doubt know where she is now renting as they will be paying her rent, but you have a reason to make contcat with her as you will need to forward her mail.

Dot its the local Bcouncil have something called free?line for tenants wanting properties

most local authority benefit offices will not pay directly to a private landlord, we had this with my daughter a few years ago, they will pay directly to housing associations or community housing but not private.

anyway did she not give you a deposit/bond when she moved in?

She denied he lived in but she had 2nd baby by him.

I was i a similar situation with a tenant and when she stopped paying the rent the council paid it direct to us.

She was rehoused because she had children.

Can't grass up a young mum!!!You mug. She shafted you on the rent and, by the sounds of it, trashed your place and you don't want to grass her up?

If you want to get another HB tenant then get cleaned up and re-let but unless you have access to her wereabouts AND she has assests yu have diddly chance of getting anything back.
