These things are designed by people who never have to fit them, Bramley. The worst ones to get out are those with a suction cup supplied. It does work ........... until you try to get the cup off.
I'm afraid there is no easy answer to fitting a bulb back in. I just look at the fitting and note the orientation of the two holes. Then, line the bulb up in the same way ........... then faff about ;o(
On a good day, it goes in first time ;o)
While we're having a rant......... one of the things hate most is fitting the lights in the first place. There are never enough terminals, or space for other cables. Invariably, this means shoving junction boxes/enclosures up in the ceiling void.
