Why Do I Attract Them?

Earlier today I was in a shop standing at the back of a queue of 3. The woman in front of me was about 60, very smartly dressed with perfectly applied make-up and she looked normal. She was clutching a draught excluder. She turned to me and her speech to me went as follows:
"I'm buying this draught excluder. I'm not buying it because I have a draught, although there is a big gap under the door. I am buying it to save daddy's books. Mice come under the gap in the door and I have daddy's books piled up there to stop them getting in. It does make it awkward when I want to leave the room because daddy had a lot of books and I have them all piled up against the door. I shout and tell the mice not to go in the room when I am out of it. But now all my problems are solved as I shall lay this draught excluder against the door and there is no way the mice can get past it."

At this point I suddenly "remembered" I needed something else from a distant corner of the shop, and I left the queue.

>>>and she looked normal Oh come off it, Mrs_O. You're not really expecting us to believe that YOU have any concept of normality, are you? ;-)

What did you need........draught excluder?
Question Author
Lol no. I found myself suddenly interested in rolls of net curtains (and I hate net curtains with a passion)
And there I was considering a weekend in Whitby.

It has now been demonstrated that they are all as mad as a box of frogs and I clearly won't fit in :-(
She clearly hadn't considered that, mice being mice, they'll EAT the draught excluder....

Surprised you didn't have a sand-filled Marigold to hand!

Eccles, come for a weekend.
All you have to remember to do to fit in is to occasionally point at imaginary things in the sky
I sympathise Mrs O. I had a very good friend, now sadly deceased, who was like you.I'm sure he had an invisible sign that attracted all the weirdos.
Why? Because it was your turn....I'm having a housework day today...ish..x
I'll give it some thought Mrs O......whilst re calibrating my brain away from NFN and into NFW.......
Question Author
Right Gness, you can borrow the invisible sign for the rest of the week xx
My..your generosity knows no bounds...thank you so much....xx
She must have been intimidated by this long legged international supermodel who was outshining her and thought of a ruse to get rid of her
It's just your magnetic allure Mrs O she obviously felt drawn to you as a fellow 'normal looking' person with an obsession for draught excluders.
No Psybbo, she just recognised a kindred spirit : o)
I got one on the bus the other day, completely bonkers. She plonked herself down next to me and never paused for breath, I had the full version of what she had done all day. The schoolkids on the bus were sniggering and looking and then she took out a bottle of water to drink, but didn't stop talking, so I am then covered in spray as she twittered on! I got off the bus a stop too early just for some peace and quiet, ha.
That's a fairly normal shop queue conversation where I live.
Maybe she'd misunderstood when someone had told her to get a draught excluder to keep mice out ...she needed a bristle strip. :)
Mazie, you are really brave:-)
You should have returned to the queue with some mousetraps, Mrs. O. lol lol
>>>and she looked normal

Oh come off it, Mrs_O. You're not really expecting us to believe that YOU have any concept of normality, are you?
