Have taken some cotton jumpers out of the cupboard only to find they have storage stains on them which I cannot shift. Tried detergent, stain removers, vinegar, ammonia, boiling water, vanish stain remover. Does anyone have a clue how to shift these horrible yellow stains, or how they got there in the first place. The jumpers were in a cupboard in the bedroom that doesn't have any form of damp or nasties. Any suggestions will be gratefully received as they are jumpers I like and don't want to have to part with them.

No Blackiequine - one is lilac and the other is white and blue stripes, so cannot bleach. They cannot be through food because there is some on the back of the upper arms.
what were they wrapped in?
Soda water`s good for stain removal. You could give the stained parts a good soaking.

They weren't wrapped Woofgang, they were just folded one on top of the other with other in a neat pile with other jumpers. I have a couple of jumpers I vacuum seal but these were every day ones that I hadn't worn since last year, but got them out because the weather is getting colder.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone - am off to do some washing. Regards seelie x
Household soap is good for removing stains .I've used it for years. You can buy bars of it in Wilkinsons .You used to be able to buy Fairy Household soap but that's been discontinued .The Wilkies one is just as good ..I find all these things like Vanish etc a waste of money .Just spray the stain with cold water ,rub the bar of soap well into the stain then wash as normal .
