My dad installed a redring expressions shower today and during the first run of the thing it is going from hot to cold to hot to cold etc etc. the auto reset light is going on and off while the temperature changes.

Can't seem to find anything in the manual to what the problem is, so any help would be handy!

I think this is a power shower, running off hot and cold gravity supplies.

It could be the thermostatic valve that's faulty............. but since it's only just been installed, it's more likely that the H&C supplies are fluctuating because of airlocks.

There's usually a priming procedure that has to be followed before finally firing it up.

Did that go ok?
If the pressure is ok then it sounds like it may be the overheat cut out ....usually situated on the top of the tank unit.

The shower is connected to the mains cold water supply as recommended. Regardless of power setting or temperature setting the auto reset light goes off and on with the temperature.. He says it's been primed.
Ah, so it's not a power shower then Kat?
I'd go with His Brightness's suggestion. I can't think of anything you could do except to assume it's faulty.

No it's not power shower! Sorry I should have stated! Yeah we thought it was probably faulty. Thanks for the help you two :) dad will have fun taking it all off the wall again!
Just a thought....try turning the temperature knob (with blue and red markings) fully towards the blue and then slowly towards the red.
