What's the difference in expensive Tablets Fairy etc and cheaper brands. I was using Fairy and today bought Asda own brand at £1.60, seems have done the same job dishes clean and sparkly.

Yep, you're right, not a lot of difference between the premium brands and the basic ones. We always use basic.
I don't have a dishwasher any more, but when I did, I bought Aldi. Provided you are happy with the cleaning effect, no need to buy famous brands - they rely on people sticking to brands they know. Same with washing powder tablets, I wouldn't buy anything else than Aldi these days.

We have to use Calgon-type tablets too due to v. hard water - Calgon, five quid a box - Morrisons £1.50.
Which magazine did a review of dishwasher tablets recently and found Aldi one of the best.
You may find your glasses get a bit cloudy after a while with cheap tablets.
You get what you pay for. I tried Aldi - once.
Hmmmm, I used to use Tesco cheapies til I used expensive Finish ones (on offer), I won't go back now.

I use powder rather than tablets - much more economical. Glasses go cloudy after a while no matter what you use - just regard them as disposable and go to Ikea more often for replacements!
I would if I had an IKEA within 50 miles of us, diddly!
I've tried cheap ones, including Aldi, but no, they aren't as good.
I do that diddly, most of my glasses come from Ikea. I'm lucky though, I can be at a store within 15 mins.
I always stock up when the expensive ones are on special offer.
I use powder. I wish I could find a cheaper one, though. I can only get Finish.
Cloverjo - Waitrose do an own-brand powder. By the way I don't use rinse aid - I could never see that it made any difference. I fill the rinse-aid dispenser with water to stop the silly light from coming on!
I never used rinse aid either, perfectly ok without it. Falls into the same category for me as fabric conditioner in the washing machine - completely unnecessary.
Boxtops -are we the only 2 people in the country who abhor fabric conditioner? I hate it when I stay with people who use it - I don't want artificially perfumed sheets!
I guess you live in a soft water area then, Boxtops.
I don't live in a soft water area and in any case what's that got to do with hating fabric conditioner?
More a reference to rinse aid.
Glasses are likely to be all spotty with hard water and no rinse aid.
