and the oven does not work. I think I need a new one, I have had this for 10 years. I heard of a place, where they sell slight damaged appliances, cheaper than normal, not badly damaged, just scratches, and small dents etc. Does anyone know where this place is around yorkshire?

Haha...to cook with lol
Errr whereabouts in Yorkshire...it's a big place you know.
I think places like Currys etc, have an ebay page where they sell damaged/shop soiled goods.
Argos has an online site for 'customer returns' most stuff is fine the customer has just decided they want to return it for some reason.
ferlew, what are "soiled goods"?
The British Heart Foundation sells second-hand cookers.
Rusty ? It's probably all that North Sea gas. I knew no good would come of it.

Don't they have these type of shops in many city high streets ? Not that I can offer specific help for Yorkshire. Try Thomson's or Yellow Pages.
Items that have been on display in the shop are often sold cheap but they call it 'Ex Display' not 'shop soiled'
I've bought a washing machine and a microwave from a company called Scratch & Dent in Sussex - the casings are damaged but the insides are fine, and set in the worktop you wouldn't know the difference. There must be somewhere similar in Yorkshire!
There is a 'house clearance' company just up the road from me , I got a cooker from them for £20 it was just like new, they have to take the entire contents of a house but sell electrical stuff cheap as long as you take it 'sold as seen' so they do not have to test it for resale.
Ask scrap dealers or council tip; display/end of line/shop soiled items end their life there.

I dont want a 'soiled' item. I want an unused ex display kind of cooker. Sheffield/chesterfield/Doncaster. I like the returns idea with argos, I will check that out. I miss baking and roast chicken and steak.
I've bought appliances from this shop http://www.apollo4appliances.co.uk/?page_id=4
As it says in the link you can get brand new, slightly damaged or reconned.
