Washing Medal Ribbons
7 Answers
My OH has medals from his father and grandfather and wants these mounting. The medal ribbons are quite dirty and I wondered whether it would be possible to wash them gently by hand rather than having to buy new ones.
Can anyone advise me about this?

i had my fathers mounted/framed with a photo & regiment badge, it was done by Worcester Medals, they actually used replicas so the originals could be locked away for safe keeping this also allowed me to do an extra set for my sister as a present.
They have pride of place on my living room wall, just a shame my father never saw them like this.

Thank you all for your advice. My OH has decided to have new ribbons especially as the originals are quite dirty and maybe too short anyway!
Our son is paying for these to be mounted as a gift for his Birthday, which is rather nice as he will be the one to inherit them anyway, we just have to post them off now!
