Moving House.

How can I justify, to myself, moving from a four bedroomed house to a six bedroomed house. There are only two of us (four, counting the dogs) but often there are five.

So far I have thought.....

main bedroom
guest room (grown ups)
guest room (children)
junk room
er?
er?

Any suggestions?

I moved to a 4-storey terraced house on the justification that I needed something that big to keep all my stuff.....

Your "er" rooms could be a study, and a hobby room..... (I need somewhere to keep my knitting wool!)

I've a 4 bedroomed house and you could only sleep in 2 of them, one is the computer/games/extra TV room and the other has a train set spread across it.

Why do you feel the need to justify it? You want 'em and can presumably afford to do so, then do it.

Why do you need to justify it?

My only observation would be is, if you are upsizing and don't have a cleaner it will be more nugatory effort on your part.

Some excellent suggestions, so far. There is a study downstairs but a hobby room sounds like an good idea. I also like the idea of a dressing room.

You are the one who will cleaning it :)
There are two of us in a three bedroom and that's hard going for me to keep clean .
If sprogs or rellies come to stay they have to hoof it !

Turn one room into a wardrobe You know a walk in / dressing table the works keep all your clothes in one room(makes the bedroom bigger if you dont have to store it all there)

Hummm, the cleaning it part is beginning to put me off! I'll have to think a little more about it. Do a list of pros and cons, that type of thing. Thanks for the input everyone.
