Latest Regulations On Installing A Boiler

My elderly sister who lives on her own has recently had a new condensing boiler fitted. The guy has not fitted a room thermostat, he says that it would clash with the thermostatic rad valves that he has fitted. I thought that it was regulation to fit a wall thermostat in all new installations. Who is correct?

Yes, it is required in the Regulations, even if TRVs are fitted.

... Also .... clashing with the TRVs is nonsense. They do two completely different jobs.
The TRVs are for personal adjustment... to suit you. The roomstat is an energy saving requirement. It simply prevents the circulating pump from running continuously.

The roomstat is simply there to set to maximum so you can control the room from the rads.
