Washing Machine Not Heating Water ?

How do I know if my washing machine is heating the water ?

run it and put your hand on the glass door.

If your machine is set for a 40°c wash and temp. doesn't reach 40°c it shouldn't complete the wash.

Scrivens, my machine rinses with cold water so the washing always comes out cold, but I know the wash is hot/warm because the glass door is warm during the wash

The clothes always come of the machine cold as it has a cold rinse at the end. I ran it on 90 degrees today and I could feel the door was hot . Thank you for your answers .
