One by one the inside doors will not close, the bottom of the door is too wide for the frame, it's not the heat as it's been happening over the last few months. Will I have to get the doors rehung or is it something big. Thanks.
Scarett, subsidence is deffinitley a possibilility (sorry). If your house has a basement, check to see if any cracks are propagating there, especially at the corners of any windows or doors. It is strange that the problems only began within the last few months. Has there been any major construction going on nearby? It might be best to have a structural engineer come take a look...
Don't want to scare you but I would suggest getting a structural engineer in as a matter of urgency to check for movement, especially if next door have been mucking about with foundations. Best of luck and please keep us posted.
I would have suggested that you check the hinges on your doors to ensure that the hinge was screwed tightly in place. If, however, the problem's affecting several doors then I suspect it is more serious and needs professional scrutiny.
It,s scarett landie. I'm getting someone to check doors first as some of the hinges look as if they have been ( stretched ) Thanks to all who answered.
