I have a 5Kw and it heats a through kitchen and lounge plus when I open the door to the stairs it all so warms 3 rooms up stairs. It’s the best thing I have ever had put in the house. It cost £1600 for the stove chimney and liners fitted in just one day. The stove was a Firefox 5Kw approx £450. Avoid stoves form china not very good quality . This is the company that I used but of course I don’t know which part of the country you live

Never has the expression "you get what you pay for" been truer than with woodburners. Jotul's are particularly good. Any of the Scandinavian top makes are worth a look.
In this country, have a look at "Woodwarm". Especially the one with the "Airwash" system that keeps the glass clean. I've fitted a couple of them, and the control is excellent. Quite traditional design. Not as sexy as the Scandinavians, but then, who is?

List prices are usually over the £1k level, but always negotiate ;o)
