Sinday. Lots of evil looking clouds lurking with intent. It's going to piddle kitties and pups later. Not on the canal today, but lots of catching up to do here.

Foxy and tiggy were in as usual. Foxy while I was in the shower at about 10 last night. I'd put his supper out and got in the shower, it was gone when I got out about ten minutes later. I put tiggy's out and he was on it in a couple of minutes. Must have been hungry, again taking bits away to his lair for Mrs. tiggy.

When the Boaty came in.

No sign of the pair of foxes, but it's too cloudy for them to see anything anyway. A sense of urgency in the badgers sett, lots of bustle and hurry. A sure sign it going to rain. Quite a large number of deer on the hillside grazing, The little roes were working their way towards the trees. I think that's where they spend the day, away from humans, It's only a small patch of trees, but it's out of the way.
Seagulls patrolling, quite a lot of them, they will go back where they belong when it rains. The river is about 6 miles away from here, no distance at all for them, noisy, messy scumbags they are. It's good entertainment watching when they get too close to the rookery, I've seen the rooks kill seagulls who get too close when there are young in the nests. There are always double sentries out when the shItehawks are about. Good parents, rooks!

A lot of scurrying in the undergrowth, more than usual, so something is going on, probably preparing for the coming rain.

I've got two loads of washing to do, so it looks like the shwer room is going to be the drying room today. I was hoping to get it out on the line. I don't think that's going to happen today!

Time for a coffee.

Have a happy day everyone. :o}

Morning minty. xxx Good news re dad. You must be pleased with that. :o}

The rain isn't far off here now.

It was not as busy as I was expecting in the heritage centre yesterday. Not as many people about asd I was expecting. It did give a chance to watch some of the aircraft at RIAT making their approach runs to Fairford. The Spitfire flew right over us. I love the sound of that Merlin engine. :o}The Red Arrows flew past, looking like they were joined together, as always. A joy to watch.

Morning slappy. I was expecting some here yesterday, but it obviously found somewhere else that needed it's attention more.
Getting ready for an air show ? There's one here in a couple of weeks ..from the air museum in east lothian ,an old military air strip with huge hangars , Concorde is there.

One of the original Concordes is at the aircraft museum at RNAS Yeovilton in Somerset. I've been there a few times. very good it is too. They also have a mock up of an aircraft carrier flight deck.

Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford minty. One of the biggest in the world. Three days of big boys toys doing their stuff. From a small aircraft flying upside down 6 feet above the runway to catch as flag on it's tailfin to a B52 taking off to go on patrol. Display teams from all over the world. The Royal Navy Helicopter Display team, they did a demonstration of finding and destroying a submarine last time I was there, the Army Helicopter Display team did things with helicopters you wouldn't believe possible!
Question Author
mi ty that is one beautiful Rolls Royce. :o}
Ah....know fairford was there once when I was about 12 I think...very noisy I seem to remember !
Question Author
It is indeed minty. The static displays are very good too. It's possible to meet and talk to the Red Arrows pilots ( one of whom is a lady) and the engineers that keep them flying. The team manager is a lovely young lady. All manner of aircraft from all over the world can be seen close up.
Need to send the arrows out over AB land....wake 'em all up !
Question Author
A B52 would do the job better! It's a noisy beast, well, it has got eight engines!
Good times...day shift in early... bed beckons, have a good day folks
